Description
		
The central specimen is a loop of small intestine which is swollen and 
haemorrhagic because of strangulation; the point of strangulation is well-defined. On either side 
is the opened excised umbilical hernia in which the bowel was trapped.

This man presented at the age of 67 with a myocardial infarct involving mainly his right 
ventricle; he subsequently developed tricuspid incompetence.
